Dear Summit Mt Washington

Family,

It is with an incredible amount of gratitude I share with you that 241 hikers and cog participants all joined together yesterday for what was truly a beautiful, inspiring, and record breaking event.

From the moment the first hikers arrived, to when the last were leaving the parking lot, the day was unbelievable and largely went off without a hitch.

Thank you to everyone who registered, participated, and volunteered for this year’s event, because together, we made a difference.

We raised awareness of the stigma surrounding mental health illness that is still very real and present in our culture.

We spread hope to those who still struggle, and remembered those who may have lost their own battle with mental illness.

We shared stories, supported each other on trail, developed new friendships and rekindled old, and we grew the Hike for Mental Health and Summit Mt Washington family.

And together we were able to raise an astonishing $55,000 through individual contributions, the cog event, raffle and swag sales, and donations from total strangers we met on trail.

I am grateful and proud of you, the participants and volunteers, of the 13th Annual Summit Mt Washington. Thank you for who you are, and what you all did yesterday. I am inspired by all of you.
