Pearland Veterans Day Walk supports vets battling PTSD at Camp Home
Last evening, the Pearland Veterans Day Walk planning team was honored to present Texas Outreach Manager Zack Alexander from Camp Hope & the PTSD Foundation of America with a check for $4,000 from the proceeds of last November’s walk.
Pearland Mayor Tom Reid and Pearland City Council member Gary Moore, both veterans and long-time supporters of the City’s Veterans Day Walk, honored us with their presence at the ceremony.
On behalf of HIKE for Mental Health and the Veterans Day Walk planning committee (left to right – Leo Walker, Paul Chimenti, Kimberly Ross, Lisa Keeling, Danielle Tywater, Angie Infante; not shown: Tom Kennedy and Nancy Kozanecki), we express our gratitude to the Pearland community and businesses who sponsored the Walk. With their support, checks from the Walk were also presented to Counseling Connection for Change, the Community Action Program of Pearland, and Pearland VFW Post 7109, for a total of $16,400 distributed from the event.
This year, the Veterans Day Walk will be on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at the Pearland Recreation Center. Information is available at pearlandwalk.org. Mark your calendars!
