$2,000.00 donated
We are asking you to sponsor us to hike up Mount Washington, and help support Hike For Mental Health.
Your support will provide important dollars to basic research into the human brain and maybe, someday, provide ways to detect and treat mental illness sooner and better than we can right now.
Paul:
I hike because I love hiking. I love being out in nature, and I’m never happier when I can look out from the top of a mountain and see nothing made by people, and imagine that I am the first person to see this view ;-).
I hike for HFMH in memory of my brother Kurt, who suffered most of his life from schizophrenia. Kurt was about 8 years older than me, and I don’t have any memories of him before his schizophrenia took over his life. My parents told me that he was a great kid, and they had a lot of sorrow about what happened to him, their first child. My mother worried that maybe she did something wrong during the pregnancy. And as for Kurt? He was utterly alone. No one understood him.
My hope is that your support will help us get one step closer to earlier detection, one step closer to earlier intervention, and one step closer to treatments and cures. Line up enough of those steps, and you can reach the top of a mountain! Thank you!!

Have a great hike!
Happy trails!
My two closest friends (Paul and Ted) had/have brothers who were diagnosed with schizophrenia, so I have some limited insight into the need for better treatments.
You guys rock!
I will miss sharing in the hike this year with you both and wish you great weather and a safe hike.
All my best to the group and thanks again for supporting this great cause!
My sister Kathy, is 62 years old and has suffered from schizophrenia since she’s 15 years old. This cause hits close to home.
Thank you for giving your valuable gift of time to such an important cause
