Thanks for landing on this page! I chose to join a hike with HIKE for Mental Health to help stamp out the stigma of mental illness and conserve wilderness trails.
Growing up entrenched in observing / having impact of parental mental health struggles helped me keep an importance of ensuring I take care of myself growing older from a very young age.
I always lived near the woods, and it became a fundamental part of my identity and source of bewilderment. I feel free and full when I’m nearby, and starved when not…
Being outside as part of my daily health routine (on top of balancing my other self-care rituals) has helped me gain clarity, a sense of self, and a compass that drives me as a human to continue my excitement for life and personal evolution that never ceases until I do.
I am really grateful to have found an organization that also sees this as a critical part of life to protect our minds and the ‘third-place’ that nature is for us, and most importantly, the longevity of survival for all kinds, big and small, 👫🐰🫎🌳🏔️🪺 within our control.
