Help Stop the Stigma of Mental Health Disorders
1 in 4 affected
We all want to stamp it out, we all know someone who struggles or may have even been there…or perhaps actually there now.
Mental Health is now a topic of great medical concern. Finally.
Have we overcome the stigma? Not yet. When struggling with something invisible it’s hard to be understood. At one time many years ago I was guilty of judging when my Mom suffered greatly. Thirty-six years of mis-diagnosis’, in/out of treatments, trial medications, counseling and so much more…yet she gave up.
The day she passed I made a promise to myself and her that I would speak loudly, eloquently and sympathetically about Mental Illness. No one wants this, it’s a long tough road. It’s sad. It’s draining. It’s devastating and destructive to families and friends.
It is: depression, anxiety, isolation, inadequate resources, substance misuse, social stigmas and high suicide rates-
Thankfully we all can do little things that become big things. Speaking about it, raising money and understanding.
I am hiking the 13th Annual Hike for Mental Health, August 24, 2024. Up and down Mount Washington. I would appreciate your support. Your donation goes to:
